KNOWN ISSUE 19: Problem: Installation or uninstallation of FS Real Time fails with the following error messages: "Could not load initialization file." "Setup cannot continue without first uninstalling FS Real Time. Setup will now close." Cause: The "FS Real Time" folder within the Program Files folder was deleted or moved. This folder contains an uninstaller configuration file used only for the uninstalling of "FS Real Time". When an attempt is made to uninstall "FS Real Time" using Add/Remove Programs or the included Uninstall utility, the uninstaller looks in the registry for information on the location of the folder containing the file which was deleted or moved. When it can't find it, it displays a message saying that it couldn’t find the initialization file. When an attempt is made to reinstall FS Real Time, the installer looks in the registry to see if a previous version is installed and if so, initiates the uninstall procedure before continuing with the installation. Because the original folder was moved or deleted, this uninstall process fails and displays the first error message followed by the second from the installer program. Resolution: To resolve this problem, return the "FS Real Time" folder to the location where it was initially installed or download the patch that will remove the relevant offending registry key from your system such that you'll be able to re-install "FS Real Time". Status: 3D Softworks has confirmed that this is a problem in the setup program of FS Real Time. Applies to: FS Real Time v1.46 and newer Last reviewed at: 7:29 AM 1/4/2006
