Description of changes |
| 1.88 |
11/14/2008 |
- In the FS Real Time setup, rearranged the order in which the "flight
simulator selections" setup screen and the "optional packages to
install" setup screen appear so that it is less confusing. This new
arrangement means that the "optional packages to install" screen can now
filter out what packages are not needed and recommend only those packages
that should
be installed based on the flight simulator selections that were checked
on the previous screen. This also allows the selections from the "flight
simulator selections" screen to be remembered if the user returns to
that screen after clicking "next."
- Fixed a bug where FS Real Time would report that it had connected to
FSUIPC through WideFS even though the simulator it connected to is on
the same computer instead of a WideFS network connection.
- Numerous minor code efficiency enhancements pertaining to the
startup of FS Real Time were implemented.
- Updated FS Real Time icon.
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC4 v4.40 and FSUIPC v3.85.
|
| 1.87.7 |
10/20/2008 |
- Reverted World Time Zones scenery back to version 3.0. The reason
for this is that World Time Zones v3.51 is not functioning as it should
for a large number of users of FS2004 and FSX. FS Real Time itself is
not affected by this issue and continues to correct the flight simulator
time as it should.
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC4 v4.30 and FSUIPC v3.82.
|
| 1.87.6 |
3/10/2008 |
- Fixed a Run-time error '5' crash when using FS Real Time with
non-English versions of Windows Vista that use Unicode characters in the
time zone name. This error was due to FS Real
Time not properly handling Unicode data passed to it while using the
Windows Vista operating system. What this means is that now the local
time zone name will now display properly and in the correct local
language.
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC4 v4.26 and FSUIPC v3.80.
|
| 1.87.5 |
2/29/2008 |
- Fixed a Run-time error '380' crash when the Modify Offset button is
clicked and the current system date is February 29th - (leap day). This
error was related to an earlier problem that was fixed in version 1.71
where FS Real Time would crash with the same error message because a
function within the application was setting the month before setting the
day of the month. For example, a transition from January 31 to February
1 would have resulted in this error because February does not have 31
days. This takes that fix one step further by setting the year first
before setting the day of the month and lastly the month itself.
|
| 1.87.4a |
2/23/2008 |
- Changed the way FS Real Time handles when the simulator is using a
simulation rate other than 1x. FS Real Time will perform auto-updates
regardless of whether or not the simulation rate is 1x. This should help
in keeping the simulator at the correct (offset adjusted) time when
flying at simulation rates other than 1x.
- Fixed a problem where in rare cases, FS Real Time would not display
its System UTC time and date when the "Check for DST changes in scenery
files" option was previously enabled.
- Moved the selection of the font color choices within FS Real Time to
the same format as for picking background colors for the "System UTC",
"Flight Simulator UTC", and the "Flight Simulator Local Time" date and time
boxes. This opens up the full 16 million color choices for the font
color as opposed to just 16 color possibilities previously. This
modification was based on user feedback.
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC4 v4.25
|
| 1.87.2 |
2/13/2008 |
- Fixed a problem with the Time Zone Updater utility displaying a
run-time error to those whose Regional and Languages settings uses a
comma character as the decimal separator symbol instead of a period
character.
|
| 1.87.1 |
2/11/2008 |
- Updated World Time Zones to v3.51. In this update, Argentina now
updates to GMT -2 during Daylight Saving Time and GMT -3 during Standard
Time.
- Updated the Time Zone Updater utility with a few minor code
efficiency enhancements.
|
| 1.87 |
2/9/2008 |
- 3D Softworks has assumed full responsibility for maintaining and
updating the
World Time Zones scenery. This means that the World Time Zones
scenery will be regularly expanded upon and modified as needed to keep
up with our ever changing dynamic world. This work will expand upon the
work already done by Dennis Thompson who is the original author of the
scenery however any new releases of the World Time Zone scenery will be
released under the 3D Softworks name and not by Dennis Thompson.
- Updated World Time Zones to v3.5. In this first update, Venezuela was in
the incorrect time zone. It has been corrected to GMT -4.5. Also, the
transition times between Daylight Saving and Standard Time have been
updated for several areas.
- Completely rewrote the Time Zone Updater utility
with more precision and configuration ability being the key goals. The
ability to edit Daylight Saving Time Start and End dates for the World
Time Zone scenery is now possible through the DSTorSTD.ini file.
Additional documentation about this new feature is coming soon.
- FS Real Time now differentiates in its status bar whether its
connected to FSUIPC directly or through a Wide Client connection.
- Moved the internal processing of the UTC date and time functions to
it's own module for extensibility and portability to other applications.
- Fixed a problem with error messages not showing when a problem
arises while attempting to start a flight simulator with FS Real Time.
- Changed captioning for the option "Check for DST changes in S.
Hemisphere" to read "Check for DST changes in scenery files?" based on
user feedback.
- Improved the way FS Real Time parses its own internal records such
as the data needed to start specific flight simulators. This has
resulted in better loading performance and a smaller memory footprint.
- Numerous other minor code efficiency enhancements and clean-ups
were implemented.
|
| 1.86 |
1/23/2008 |
- Restored the system time zone name display feature for users of
Windows Vista.
- Fixed a bug in FS Real Time where if the system time zone was
set to Namibia Time (GMT +2) while Daylight Saving Time was in effect
then the System UTC window displayed the incorrect time thereby giving a
connected flight simulator the incorrect time.
- Fixed a bug in FS Real Time where the option to disable the detection of
DST changes would do nothing on a Windows Vista system.
- Numerous internal code improvements to the World Time Zones scenery
setup utility were implemented.
|
| 1.85.3 |
1/19/2008 |
- Fixed a serious bug in the World Timezones scenery setup utility
where the World Timezone scenery layer identifier within each flight
simulators' scenery.cfg file was being assigned the same number as the
Area identifier number. The layer identifier for this scenery is now
assigned the highest freely available layer number separate from the
Area identifier number.
|
| 1.85.2 |
1/14/2008 |
- Fixed a problem within FS Real Time where the Auto-Start feature and
the "Disable simulators 'Pause on task switch'" feature would be
completely unavailable and the current system time zone wouldn't display
properly for users with anything less than administrative security
privileges.
- Fixed a locality problem within FS Real Time where clicking "Set" in
the "Modify Local Time and Date" function would do nothing.
|
| 1.85 |
1/3/2008 |
- Added an option within FS Real Time to easily disable the "Pause on
task switch" setting across all installed flight simulators based on
user feedback.
- Completely rewrote the registration system for increased security
and better efficiency.
- Numerous other minor code efficiency enhancements and clean-ups
were implemented.
|
| 1.84.3 |
12/7/2007 |
- Fixed a bug in FS Real Time where if the simulator was paused or sim-rated
when auto-setting the UTC offset was enabled, clicking "Set to Now"
would not reset the UTC offset.
|
| 1.84.1 |
11/1/2007 |
- Fixed a bug in the FS Real Time setup where the "World Timezones"
entry in the Scenery.cfg file for FSX was not being made for users of
Windows Vista.
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC4 v4.20
|
| 1.84 |
10/17/2007 |
- Reduced the size of the FS Real Time executable itself by moving the
payment processor selection options (and it's associated code) from the
application to the website.
- Redesigned the payment processor selections webpage to be less
cluttered and offer a more user friendly experience.
- Replaced an outdated e-mail address in the Support section of the
Release Notes.
|
| 1.83.4 |
9/26/2007 |
- Fixed a bug in FS Real Time that caused the loading of the time as
indicated in a situation file to start as if though it were December 31,
1999 12:00 AM for users of FSX.
- Discovered that the FS Real Time Users Guide included was that of an
older obsolete version. The users guide has now been replaced with a
more up-to-date version.
|
| 1.83.3c |
9/12/2007 |
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC4 v4.16.
|
| 1.83.3b |
8/27/2007 |
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC4 v4.152.
|
| 1.83.3a |
6/8/2007 |
- FS Real Time now includes FSUIPC v3.75 and FSUIPC4 v4.11.
|
| 1.83.3 |
5/17/2007 |
- Changed the wording of the tab in the options from "Time & Date" to
"Appearance" based on user feedback.
- Fixed a small bug in FS Real Time where if FS Real Time was
minimized to the system tray upon exiting the program, the system tray
icon wouldn't be removed.
- Work is continuing on finding a solution to a bug with the display
of the time zone names within FS Real Time for Windows Vista users. This
is the single one reason there hasn't been any updates since November
2006! In the interim, the work-around solution is to disable the display
of the time zone names for Vista users. Once this bug is solved, a new
version of FS Real Time will be released.
- For proper operation of FS Real time with Flight Simulator X SP1,
FSUIPC4 v4.10 is now required. The FS Real Time setup now includes
FSUIPC v4.10 by Pete Dowson. (FSUIPC 3.74 is also included for earlier
versions of flight simulator)
|
| 1.83 |
11/26/2006 |
- Added ability for the FS Real Time setup to check if FS Real Time
itself (or any related programs) are running before continuing with an
un-installation.
- Fixed a hard-to-find bug when FS Real Time is used with Nvidia
nForce chipsets running Microsoft Windows XP where FS Real Time wouldn't
display the message indicating that a previous instance of itself was
already running in memory.
- Added ability for FS Real Time to optionally display a confirmation
dialog box asking for permission to connect to an already running flight
simulator.
- Completely redesigned the FS Real Time Options dialog to make it
easier to find the settings you're looking for.
|
| 1.82 |
11/19/2006 |
- Updated the Time Zone Updater utility with new Daylight Saving
change-over dates for Brazil.
- Updated several message box windows within FS Real Time to conform
to the formatting requirements of Windows Vista.
- Fixed a small bug in the FS Real Time setup where the FSUIPC4
installer was being copied to the FS Real Time folder when FS Real Time
was installed as a Wide Client installation.
- Updated the 'Make a donation' via Paypal link in the Release Notes
as well as in FS Real Time so that it points to the website rather than
a locally stored version of the 'Make a donation' page.
- Reworded the connection attempts count message in the status bar of
FS Real Time to
indicate that they were connection attempts and not seconds remaining
until a timeout when attempting to connect to a flight simulator.
|
| 1.81 |
10/17/2006 |
- FS Real Time is now officially compatible with Flight
Simulator X! The World Time Zones v3.0 "scenery" that comes bundled
with FS Real Time is also officially compatible with Flight Simulator X!
|
| 1.80.3 |
9/14/2006 |
- Improved the options for how the time and date visual elements are
displayed. Now, the 3D border element for the time and date displays can be enabled or disabled. Also,
colors from the system color picker can now be used to define a
background color for the time and date displays. These features were
added by user request.
- Added contextual help to the Ephemeris Calculator.
- For unregistered users, a disclaimer is now displayed before FS Real
Time is started indicating the unregistered use limitations.
|
| 1.80 |
6/12/2006 |
- Moved the context sensitive help system from the old (now obsolete) WinHelp
system to the newer HTMLHelp system. The absence of the old WinHelp
system in Windows Vista necessitated this move so that FS Real
Time would continue to work when used with Windows Vista.
- Added support for FS Real Time when used with Microsoft Windows Vista (both
32 and 64 bit versions) and Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.
- Fixed a problem with the "Connect" button displaying that it will
connect to a flight simulator that is no longer installed when the
particular flight simulator was un-installed before changing or
disabling the Auto-Start feature within FS Real Time.
- FS Real Time now detects whether the flight simulator that it's set
to auto-start is in the location that the system registry says it is.
- Further improved the efficiency of the "Auto-Start Flight Simulator"
feature by internally consolidating all information required to start a
particular Flight Simulator into a single location within FS Real Time.
|
| 1.79.3 |
4/15/2006 |
- Fixed a bug with FS Real Time displaying an overflow error to users
of Windows Server 2003 when exiting the flight simulator while FS Real
Time is still connected.
- Added a check to determine if WideClient is running before
attempting to auto-start and connect to a flight simulator. Without this
particular check in place, potential errors and conflicts could have
arisen due to the WideClient application looking like an actual FSUIPC
signature to FS Real Time if more than one signature existed in memory
at the same time. This could happen if for example a flight simulator
with FSUIPC installed is running on the same computer that WideClient is
running on.
- Fixed a bug with FS Real Time inappropriately displaying the
"Connect" button text after exiting the Options page when it was already
connected to a flight simulator. This bug was introduced in v1.79.
|
| 1.79 |
4/8/2006 |
- Added a check to determine if the font size used to render the System
UTC Time, FS UTC Time, and the FS Local Time is within an acceptable
range. This became necessary as a way to prevent the time and date from
not rendering within the space provided for the displays. This usually
happens when the Regional and Language settings within Windows are changed
resulting in what is considered to be a decimal symbol be it either a
period character or a comma character.
- Fixed a minor problem where the size of the FS Real Time main
program window was drawn slightly larger than necessary when Windows XP
Themes were disabled.
- Added a new method of setting the local time and date within the
Flight Simulator. This feature is very similar to the "Set Time and
Season" feature within Flight Simulator with one important difference --
FS Real Time allows you to modify the local time and date whereas Flight
Simulator only allows you to adjust the local time and not the date. The
date adjustment ability within Flight Simulators "Set Time and
Season"
feature adjusts the UTC date and not the local date which can cause
confusion.
- Added ability for FS Real Time to display which Flight Simulator it
will start and connect to on the "Connect / Disconnect" button when FS
Real Time is set to automatically start the Flight Simulator. This
feature was added based on user feedback.
- Numerous FS Real Time code efficiency enhancements and clean-ups
were implemented.
|
| 1.78.4 |
1/7/2006 |
- Fixed a bug within FS Real Time (that was apparently introduced in
v1.78 with the addition of the Microsoft FSX flight simulator to its list
of supported simulators) that wouldn't enable the Auto-Start Flight
Simulator feature if any less than two Flight Simulators were installed.
This feature has been restored and now once again disables the Auto-Start
option if there are no supported flight simulators detected. This was a
minor omission that actually unmasked another error which was hidden
beforehand.
- Fixed a bug within FS Real Time where users of the Mozilla Firefox
internet browser software were receiving the error "c is not a registered
protocol." when attempting to make a donation by clicking on the Make a
Donation button within the Paypal window inside the FS Real Time
application.
|
| 1.78 |
1/3/2006 |
- Added the ability to check for new versions of FS Real Time at the 3D
Softworks website using the "Check for updates..." option within the Help
menu of FS Real Time.
- Added a new option to enable or disable performing an update when the
flight simulator is locked due to menu access or when displaying a modal
window. Previously, there was no option to disable this feature and FS
Real Time was performing an update automatically due to menu access.
- Prepared FS Real Time for the eventual release of the next Microsoft Flight Simulator. This preparation
is well in advance of the actual release but
is deemed necessary to allow time for testing purposes so that when
Microsoft releases their
new Flight Simulator, an updated FS Real Time software package can be
released soon afterwards.
- Fixed a bug causing a limitation where if the FS UTC Offset was set to an offset
of greater than 24,855 days, 3 hours, 14 minutes, 7 seconds (approximately
68 years) into the past or into the future, then FS Real Time would
display an overflow error and then crash. FS Real Time is now capable of
setting offsets of up to approximately 1,900 years into the past or 4,000
years into the future.
- Increased the evaluation period from 20 minutes to 1 hour based on
user feedback.
|
| 1.77 |
10/2/2005 |
- Fixed a small bug where if the option to hide the splash screen was
already enabled upon starting FS Real Time, then it wouldn't perform a
check to see if any previous instances of FS Real Time were already
running.
- Fixed a small bug where before FS Real Time read the system time, it
would briefly display junk information in the System UTC time and date
display and also in the the system
time zone display beneath the Connect and AutoUpdate buttons .
- FS Real Time now copies its own version information to the "fsrealtime.ini"
file. This is done for informational purposes only and is meant to help
assist in the technical support process. FS Real Time does not retrieve its version
information from this location.
- Improved the way that the FS UTC Offset is displayed. This improvement
brings simplification the FS Real Time main window by moving the FS UTC
Offset to its own window. Equal size buttons are now given to both the
Ephemeris Calculator and also the Custom Offset buttons. Also, the FS UTC
Offset feature now displays the actual offset it is using (which is more
accurate then using the "Get Update" button to retrieve the offset.)
Last but not least, a better way of resetting the offset to zero has been
implemented by simply combining the functions of the previous "Now" and
"Set" buttons into a new "Set to Now" button. Also, a
"Set to Offset" button has been created for performing an immediate update
using the existing offset.
|
| 1.76 |
8/1/2005 |
- Added the option to allow the disabling of the FS Real
Time splash screen.
- Improved the internal load and save settings routine within
FS Real Time for much greater efficiency.
- Made minor corrections to the User Guide.
- Fixed a bug in the Ephemeris Calculator where if the aircraft
within the flight simulator is at a location where the sun doesn't set until
after midnight (for example: Fairbanks, Alaska from May 31st to July 14th),
then the Ephemeris Calculator was showing that the sunset occurred before the sunrise
for the same day which is of course, impossible. The Ephemeris Calculator
now correctly shows that the sunset occurs after midnight for these locations.
- Fixed a bug where if the system UTC indicated a morning time and the
aircraft within the flight simulator was in the eastern hemisphere, then
clicking on the Sunset Set button after clicking on the Sunrise Set button
resulted in the ephemeris calculator retracting a whole day each time the
buttons were clicked. Conversely, if the system UTC time indicated an
afternoon time and the aircraft within the flight simulator was in the
western hemisphere, then clicking on the Sunrise Set button after clicking
on the Sunset Set button resulted in the ephemeris calculator adding a
whole day each time the buttons were clicked.
|
| 1.75 |
6/19/2005 |
- Added ability to minimize FS Real Time to the system tray.
This feature must be enabled in the advanced options in order to be used.
- Added a comprehensive user guide that outlines every feature
of FS Real Time. This user guide complements the context-sensitive help system
already in place by allowing the user to get comprehensive help with relative
ease.
- When entering registration details, the user name and registration
key can now be dragged and dropped into the appropriate text boxes within
the registration window.
- Changed the registration process for accepting donations
from individuals or companies who choose to make a donation using the offline
method. All offline donations are now processed by eMetrix which means that
there are more purchase options for individuals and companies.
- Changed the registration process for accepting online donations.
Now instead of a system in which individuals or companies type in a donation
amount when making a donation, available donation amounts are pre-selected
that makes selecting a donation amount much easier. Also, our automation server
which is used to process registration keys now only accepts donation amounts
of a certain amount or greater to prevent any possible abuse by donating a
penny to obtain a registration key.
|
| 1.74.2 |
4/16/2005 |
- Added eMetrix as a payment option.
- Completed configuration of back-end server automation so
that when either a Paypal or eMetrix donation is made, a registration key
will be generated immediately and e-mailed automatically.
- Added the "TZ22 update 8" and "TZ30 update 8" to the World
Time Zones setup by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.74.1 |
3/31/2005 |
- Added the "TZ22 update 6" and "TZ30 update 6" to the World
Time Zones setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Added the "TZ22 update 7" and "TZ30 update 7" to the World
Time Zones setup by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.74 |
3/28/2005 |
- Improved the registration dialog such that when copying
and pasting the registration information into the registration dialog box,
it now automatically detects if additional (accidental) space characters are
present in either the name or the registration key and automatically removes
them.
- Fixed another bug with the Ephemeris Calculator where if
the aircraft was in the eastern hemisphere however the time zone was west
of GMT then the Ephemeris Calculator would have shown a calculation for the
previous day.
|
| 1.73.1 |
3/9/2005 |
- Fixed a major problem that originated in v1.70.1 with the
"setup patch" utility (which is used to add or remove the entry in the scenery.cfg
file for the World Time Zones scenery) being stuck in "uninstall mode" and
because it wasn't finding any entries pertaining to the World Time Zone scenery
during installation, it would do nothing. Therefore, the scenery would be
installed but with no entry in the scenery.cfg file.
|
| 1.73 |
3/4/2005 |
- FS Real Time now employs a type of dead-zone where if the
clock in Flight Simulator is off by less than 5 seconds (which is able to
be adjusted in the advanced options) from the current time or the offset from
the current time then an auto-update is not allowed to occur. This does not
affect the ability to manually set the time via the offset nor does it affect
the Ephemeris Calculator which can still be used to make adjustments of at
least 1 second. This update makes FS Real Time compatible with FSUIPC v3.466
or greater.
- Two major known issues have been resolved in FS Real Time
with the release of FSUIPC v3.47. Pete Dowson has reengineered the way that
FSUIPC handles updating the time and date in Flight Simulator 2002 and 2004.
Previously, FSUIPC used to update the date and time by overwriting specific
global variables within Flight Simulator. This meant that when a time update
occurred that changed the time of day within Flight Simulator from day to
night or vice versa, a type of "moonscape" view would occur where you'd see
a night sky with daytime terrain textures or a daytime sky with nighttime
terrain textures. The change within FSUIPC also means that AI traffic will
no longer bunch up because of date and time updates which in the past caused
the frame rate to be reduced to unacceptably low levels. This is all due to
the fact that now FSUIPC writes the date and time data to Flight Simulator
using the same commands that a Gauge would have to. In this way, the date
and time data is now correctly propagated through all parts of Flight Simulator.
- FS Real Time now registers when the Flight Simulator is
in a "frozen" state due to menu or dialog box access. Once clear of the menus
or dialog boxes, FS Real Time will now perform a one time update to re-synchronize
the time. This update is necessary so that the scenery won't refresh unexpectedly
and unnecessarily after a few minutes have passed since accessing the menus
in Flight Simulator.
|
| 1.72 |
2/19/2005 |
- Improved the Ephemeris Calculator window so that clicking
on the "E" button or clicking "Ephemeris Calculator..." in the Tools menu
to show the calculator will now toggle whether it's visible or not rather
than just re-centering the calculator window on top of the FS Real Time main
window. Furthermore, it now also remembers the last window position and whether
or not the "Keep window open" checkbox is checked.
- Fixed a problem where if FSUIPC was removed from the flight
simulator that FS Real Time was set to start, then upon the next run of FS
Real Time, it would not allow another flight simulator to be selected for
auto-start. (This is related to the bug fixed in v1.66)
|
| 1.71 |
1/31/2005 |
- Fixed a hard-to-find bug where FS Real Time would occasionally
crash displaying a "Run-time error '380': Invalid property value". This was
due to a function within FS Real Time setting the month before setting the
day of the month. For example, a transition from January 31 to February 1
would have resulted in this error because February does not have 31 days.
|
| 1.70.1 |
1/15/2005 |
- Added ability to check for updates.
- Added the "TZ22 update 5" and "TZ30 update 5" to the World
Time Zones setup by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.70 |
12/31/2004 |
- Entering registration information correctly will now enable
the OK button on the registration screen.
- When starting FS Real Time with the Auto-Start Flight Simulator
option, the message box now displays the reason a particular flight simulator
is disabled in the "Change" list when a flight simulator is installed but
FSUIPC has not been detected for that particular flight simulator.
- Upon completion of the installation of FS Real Time, users
who selected the "Display readme file" option received an error message. This
option was pointing to an incorrect file location.
- Fixed a bug in FS Real Time where placing the aircraft
within Flight Simulator at an airport east of 180° longitude that is UTC +12
or greater such as at PLCH (Cassidy Intl) on January 1st local time resulted
in the Ephemeris Calculator within FS Real Time displaying a calculation for
January 2nd.
- Improved the Ephemeris calculator so that it'll now tell
which event will not occur whether it's a sunrise or a sunset. Before, it
would only tell that the sun doesn't "rise/set". Now it differentiates between
the two. This is for the extreme latitude areas of the world where the sun
doesn't rise or set for an extended period of the year.
|
| 1.69.1 |
12/6/2004 * |
- Added registration information to the about box within
FS Real Time.
- The documentation concerning which purchase options are
available was incorrect. This has been updated.
- Improved the automatic disconnect feature for when Flight
Simulator is closed, FS Real Time will perform an automatic disconnection.
Now, this feature performs more reliably and in turn, is a bit faster at detecting
if Flight Simulator has been closed.
- Improved the donation system within the FS Real Time program
to reflect the same information found within the documentation.
|
| 1.69 |
10/30/2004 * |
- Added an Ephemeris Calculator which calculates the sunrise,
sunset, and solar noon times for an aircrafts given position anywhere on Earth
within Flight Simulator. The user can then optionally set the time within
flight simulator to sunrise, solar noon, or sunset.
- Discontinued the use of eMetrix as a donation option due
to the costs involved with accepting donations. PayPal is now our primary
means of accepting donations. If you wish to donate to the FS Real Time
project, you can click on the "Purchase" link in the menu on the left of
this page.
- Changed the wording of the 'reset FS offset' button from
the word "Zero" to the word "Now" based on user feedback.
- Fixed a small bug in the setup where if no flight simulators
were detected on the computer, it would still install the time zone scenery
files in the FS Real Time directory.
- Fixed a bug introduced in v1.68 where if FS Real Time was
set to start a flight simulator automatically, FS Real Time would then freeze
when its options window was opened if the last supported flight simulator
had been uninstalled.
|
| 1.68 |
8/25/2004 * |
- Improved the way that the "Auto-Start Flight Simulator"
feature is displayed in the options of FS Real Time.
- The help text within FS Real Time concerning what the default
time interval is for the AutoUpdate options has been corrected.
- Fixed a problem where FS Real Time would not display the
UTC offset within Flight Simulator when flying in areas where the UTC offset
is at half hour or 3/4 hour increments from GMT. This problem only affected
users whose Regional and Languages settings uses a comma character as the
decimal separator symbol instead of a period character.
|
| 1.67 |
8/22/2004 * |
- Added ability for FS Real Time to now perform an automatic
"disconnect" when the user exits out of Flight Simulator.
|

- Fixed problem with FS Real Time allowing flight simulators
without FSUIPC installed to be started automatically from within FS Real Time.
- FS Real Time now reads the system time every 1/10th of
a second (0.1 seconds) instead of every 1/100th of a second (0.01 seconds).
- FS Real Time now reads the flight simulator time every
1/5th of a second (0.2 seconds) instead of every 1/10th of a second (0.1 seconds).
- Changed the default time between flight simulator updates.
FS Real Time no longer defaults to an update of every 10 seconds but rather
every 10 minutes now. This is of course changeable via the FS Real Time automation
options.
- Updated documentation with a new look and easier navigation.
|
| 1.65.2 |
7/22/2004 * |
- Added PayPal support as a way of making a donation to the
FS Real Time project.

- The World Time Zone scenery is now officially compatible
with Flight Simulator 2004! "TZ30" (which is what
the new time zone scenery is referred to as) has been a long-awaited add-on
for Flight Simulator 2004 as now the time zones in FS2004 can be corrected!
Support and updates from Dennis Thompson will now be extended to encompass
both "TZ22" (for CFS, CFS2, FS98, FS2000, and FS2002) and "TZ30" now for FS2004.
- Added the "TZ22" update (for CFS, CFS2, FS98, FS2000, and
FS2002) to the World Time Zone files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Added an option in FS Real Time to start the simulation
using the current time as indicated in the loaded situation file or to reset
the simulation time to the actual UTC time.
- Updated Troubleshooting section with new information concerning
using the "Previous Flight" situation as the default flight.
|
| 1.64 |
11/12/2003 |
- In FS Real Time, the user now has direct access to change
which Flight Simulator FS Real Time will start when the auto-start Flight
Simulator confirmation dialog is displayed.
- Fixed a bug where the countdown timeout would continue
to count down while waiting for a response from the user on whether to auto-start
the flight simulator.
- In FS Real Time, the Auto-Start feature now runs a check
on the selected flight simulator to make sure that FSUIPC is installed. If
FSUIPC is not detected as being installed for the selected flight simulator,
then the Auto-Start feature won't allow that particular simulator to be selected
or started from within FS Real Time.
|
| 1.63.1 |
10/17/2003 |
- Added the "TZ21 Update 5" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Fixed a problem in the World Time Zones/FSUIPC section
of the installer where it would falsely detect that Flight Simulator 98 was
installed when ever Flight Simulator 2000 was installed. (This is related
to the bug fixed in v1.60)
- Added Tasmania for inclusion into the "Auto set DST or
Standard Time Zones" as required by "TZ21 Update 5"
- Fixed an inconsistency in the "Auto set DST or Standard
Time Zones" program where Chili was being incorrectly changed on the second
Sunday of March and October. Chili now gets properly changed on the second
Saturday of March and October.
|

10/8/2003 |
- Added a visual interface to the countdown timeout of the
Auto Connect feature. Now when FS Real Time attempts to connect to Flight
Simulator, a countdown to a timeout will occur in the status-bar on the bottom
until either it successfully connects to Flight Simulator or it times out.
- FS Real Time now supports simultaneous multiple Flight
Simulator installations. Now when installing FS Real Time, you're no longer
limited to choosing just one Flight Simulator that FS Real Time will be installed
for. Instead, during the installation, you are now presented with a list of
Flight Simulators which are detected on your system and you can pick and choose
which Flight Simulators are to be configured.
- Corrected two bugs in FS Real Time where the Auto-Start
Flight Simulator feature would not start Combat Flight Simulator and Combat
Flight Simulator 2.
|
| 1.62.2 |
9/23/2003 * |
- FS Real Time is now officially compatible with Flight
Simulator 2004! The World Time Zone scenery, however,
is not yet compatible. Dennis Thompson expects have a FS2004 release as soon
as the scenery-building software becomes available to do so.
- Fixed a bug in FS Real Time where if the user had the automation
set to start FS2004, it wouldn't start. This is because FS Real Time was searching
for an incorrect file name.
- Fixed a bug with the check in the FS Real Time Setup Program
to ensure that the World Time Zone Scenery can not be installed if the user
chooses to install FS Real Time for Flight Simulator 2004. The setup program
was searching for an incorrect file name.
|
| 1.62.1 |
|
- Added a check in the FS Real Time Setup Program to ensure
that the World Time Zone Scenery can not be installed if the user chooses
to install FS Real Time for Flight Simulator 2004. This check is necessary
because the World Time Zones scenery is not yet compatible with Flight Simulator
2004.
- Fixed a small bug where pressing the "Cancel" button in
the FS Real Time options dialog meant that it would attempt to validate any
erroneous text entered by the user.
|
| 1.62 |
|
- Added the "TZ21 Update 4" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Fixed a small bug in the Time Zone Updater utility application
whereby the date shown in the date picker was not the current UTC date.
- Cleaned up portions of the FS Real Time code for better
efficiency and a smaller file size.
- FSUIPC documentation is now available from the start menu
under All Programs => FS Real Time => FSUIPC.
- FS Real Time now utilizes release 16 of the FSUIPC SDK.
|
| 1.61 |
|
- Reworded the "AutoUpdate" button to read "Start AutoUpdate"
based on user feedback.
- Improved the internal calculation of the "System UTC" time
display, the "Flight Simulators UTC" time display, and the "Flight Simulators
Local Time" display. FS Real Time no longer assumes that the separator between
the hours, minutes, and seconds will be denominated by the colon symbol.
- FS Real Time is now an FSUIPC accredited application. FS
Real Time will now continue to function as expected with future versions of
Pete Dowsons FSUIPC module without the need to pay for the module, however,
the module will no longer provide any user configurable options unless it
is purchased. Full details are available at
the official
FSUIPC website.
- Combined the internal Patch and Unpatch utilities for installing
and removing the scenery configuration settings for the World Time Zones scenery
into one utility.
- Added ability for the user to select the time zone standards
(Daylight Saving Time or Standard Time) for the southern hemisphere by entering
a date in the Time Zone Updater utility application.
|
| 1.60 |
6/27/2003 |
- Fixed problem of FS Real Time occasionally setting the
flight simulators date and time to 12:00 AM December 31, 1899 and then to
the correct time upon startup of FS Real Time.
- Fixed a problem with FS Real Time falsely detecting that
Flight Simulator 98 and Flight Simulator 2000 were available for "Auto-Start"
when ever Flight Simulator 2000 by itself was installed.
- Added ability to adjust the Auto-Update interval for greater
lengths of time between updates. Previously, the Auto-Update could only be
set to a maximum of 60 seconds between updates. Now it's capable of intervals
of up to one hour. This should help alleviate AI traffic congestion in FS2002
when AI traffic is set to 100%.
- Added an Auto-Update countdown timer (that counts down
to the next FS time adjustment) in the Flight Simulator status display of
FS Real Time.
- The FS UTC Bias is now displayed as a fraction rather than
a decimal value. This is for time zones in which the minute is not equal to
the UTC minute.
- Added a small update from Dennis Thompson to the World
Time Zone files where St. Lawrence Island in the Bering straits was showing
a time zone of UTC - 9.667 rather than UTC - 10.
- Added ability for the user to have FS Real Time reset the
optional FS UTC Offset to zero when the user disconnects FS Real Time from
FSUIPC. This is selectable in the Advanced Options section.
- Updated documentation with the new e-mail address. For
questions, comments, or suggestions please email Joshua Robertson at rojo.moyo@verizon.net.
(please note that this e-mail address is no longer valid and has been superceded
by v1.65.1)

files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Added the "TZ21 Update 2" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Added the "TZ21 Update 3" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.58 |
|
- Added eMetrix support as a way of making a donation to
the FS Real Time project.
- Added ability for the optional FS UTC Offset to handle
dates. Now the offset can be set to any time of year as well as any year.
|
| 1.57 |
2/26/2003 |
- Added option in the advanced options for FS Real Time to
remember it's last window position.
- Added ability to save the FS Real Time settings at will
without having to exit and restart FS Real Time. Settings are still also saved
automatically upon exiting FS Real Time.
- A new Known Issue has been found concerning the "Instant
Replay" feature of Flight Simulator. Please review the Known Issues section
for details.
|
| 1.56.1 |
|
- Updated documentation with the new e-mail address. For
questions, comments, or suggestions please email Joshua Robertson at fsrealtime@hotmail.com.

by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.53.1 |

files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Added the "TZ20 Update 4" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Added the "TZ20 Update 5" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Replaced Dennis Thompsons DST batch file and Standard time
batch file which both convert all time zones that experience DST in the southern
hemisphere with one program that automatically converts only the time zones
currently in DST and changes the rest to standard time. This is done by using
the system's current UTC time.
|
| 1.53 |
|
- Added ability for FS Real Time to detect if the flight
simulator configured to auto-start has been uninstalled so that FS Real Time
will not attempt to start an uninstalled flight simulator.
- Added an option to suppress the auto-start confirmation
question.
- Added the "TZ20 Update 3" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.52 |
|
- Further improved the option for FS Real Time to start Flight
Simulator automatically. Now when FS Real Time is already started but Flight
Simulator isn't, then clicking on "Connect" will launch Flight Simulator if
the feature is enabled in the Automation Options.
- Added the "TZ20 Update 2" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.51 |
|
- The "nf0330.bgl" file was not included in the "TZ20" update
to the World Time Zones files setup. This has been corrected.
- Added the "TZ20 Update 1" update to the World Time Zones
files setup by Dennis Thompson.
- Improved the option for FS Real Time to start Flight Simulator
automatically. Now instead of finding the main directory of the flight simulator
that will be started automatically, the user can now just select which flight
simulator from a list of those installed on his/her machine.
|
| 1.50 |
12/12/2002 |
- Optimized and condensed the FS Real Time application itself
for the smallest possible file size.
- Updated the FS Real Time appearance so that Windows XP
themes display properly.
- Added option for FS Real Time to start Flight Simulator
automatically. The user can also select (in the options) which flight simulator
it starts by selecting its respective main directory.
- Added the "TZ20" update to the World Time Zone files setup
by Dennis Thompson.
|
| 1.49 |
11/28/2002 |
- Fixed a small problem when first connecting to Flight Simulator
and attempting to set the FS UTC Offset manually, nothing would happen.
- Optimized the application setup program for the smallest
file size possible by removing unneeded installation files.
- Fixed a small problem with FS Real Time not writing to
the INI file when exiting the program using File and then Exit. It only wrote
to the file when the user closed the program by clicking the “X” in the upper
right of the application.
|
| 1.48 |
11/21/2002 |
- FS Real Time now reads the flight simulator time every
1/10th of a second (0.1 seconds) instead of every half second (0.5 seconds).
This effectively makes the seconds in FS Real Time five times more accurate
then they use to be. This also helps the flight simulator seconds be more
accurate when using Auto-Update.
- Added context-sensitive help to FS Real Time. This can
be accessed either by right-clicking on the item in question, or (if in the
options box) selecting the question-mark (?) in the title bar.
- Fixed a problem where FS Real Time crashed with the message
"Run-time error '13' Type mismatch" when the Regional and Language settings
used the comma character as the decimal separator instead of a period character.
FS Real Time was assuming that the decimal separator would always be indicated
by the period character.
- Fixed the problem where FS Real Time crashed with the message
"Run-time error '13' Type mismatch" when the Regional and Language Options
were set to Bulgarian. FS Real Time wasn't performing any error check to determine
if the date followed the valid acceptable format.
|
| 1.47 |
|
- Fixed a problem in the uninstaller that when other 3rd
party scenery was added before FS Real Time was uninstalled, that 3rd party
scenery would loose its entry in the Scenery Library's scenery.cfg file.
- Fixed a problem in the Options box under the Date tab where
the day/month/year option was reversed with the month/day/year option.
- Added an option in FS Real Time for the user to be able
to select the font, font color, and background color as well as a few other
options regarding the characteristics of the displayed date and time.
- Added an option in FS Real Time for the user to be able
to disable FS UTC offset so that when the user pauses or flies at sim-rates
other than 1x, it doesn't update the FS UTC Offset.
|
| 1.46.1 |
|
- Fixed a major bug where the World Time Zone files were
not being installed correctly.
- Fixed a problem with the installer not letting the installation
continue if a Flight Simulator was not detected on the system.
- Added a message box for users of Flight Simulator 98 to
read the documentation concerning completion of the Time Zones setup.
- Fixed a problem with the uninstaller removing parts of
the setup it did not install if the user previously had those packages installed
on their system.
- Fixed a problem in the scenery.cfg patching utility that
did not copy the scenery.cfg file if it already contained an entry for World
Time zones.
- Fixed a problem in the scenery.cfg patching utility that
under certain circumstances incorrectly copied the scenery.cfg file, corrupting
it in the process.
|
| 1.46 |
|
- Added option to display text when crossing time zone's
and also when FS Real Time performs an Auto-Update.
- Reversed the mathematical sign of the displayed UTC offset
to make it correspond to the actual difference between local and UTC time.
- Added "Auto-Connect" and "Auto-start Auto-Update" options.
This is useful for when you start Flight Simulator, no further input from
the user is required after starting FS Real Time. This also helps when using
this application with Pete Dowson's "FSUIPC Run Options" program.
- Fixed the problem of FS Real Time performing an Auto-Update
while Auto-Update was still turned off. If the user updated the time and/or
date using FS2002's built-in time settings dialog box that resulted in a reloading
of scenery textures, FS Real Time would perform an update effectively canceling
out the users settings in FS2002's time/date settings dialog box.
- Included Dennis Thompson's World Time Zone Files (v1.9h)
as an optional bundled package for a more accurate representation of time
within Flight Simulator.
- Included Pete Dowson's FSUIPC interface as an optional
self-installing package within the FS Real Time installer for an all-in-one
complete installation.
|
| 1.45 |
|
- Discontinued interim support for calculation of DST within
the United States because it was causing inaccuracies in the correct time.
- Added Options that allow formatting the displayed time
and date as well as the ability to make adjustments to the Auto-Update Interval.
The user can now choose to display time using the system format, the 12 hour
format, or the 24 hour format. The same can be done for the date.
|
| 1.44 |
|
- Added a link to the Read me file in the Help menu.
- Fixed the date locale problem. Dates were being interpreted
incorrectly for non-US English locales where the format followed "day/month/year"
rather than "month/day/year". Example the US English locale of "8/2/97" would
have resulted in the UK as February 8, 1997 rather than August 2, 1997.
|
| 1.43 |
|
- Added interim support for calculation of DST within the
United States. (Note: Arizona and Indiana are still being worked on and are
not corrected due to their nonobservance of DST)
- Added calculation of custom FS offset for simulation rates
other than 1x.
- Added calculation of custom FS offset for when the simulator
is paused.
|
| 1.42 |
Was not
released |
- Added Program Icon.
- When the AutoUpdate button is pressed, it now performs
a "Get Update" on the optional FS UTC Offset unless the user set his/her own
custom offset in that field.
- Added calculation of offset for minutes and seconds to
be controlled by the UTC offset. (Useful if using a custom timezone.bgl and
flying in a part of the world that has a half-an-hour or other deviation from
the standard)
